SPRING doorstop
The doorstop SPRING is an in-house development by ID DESIGN. For this project, we carried out every development step ourselves – from the initial idea through prototyping, design and mechanical engineering to packaging design.
The project was funded by almost 600 supporters through the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, enabling us to launch production and further distribution.

Functionality
The SPRING doorstop combines many useful functions and is thought through down to the smallest detail. Its extremely slim form allows it to fit under modern doors with very small clearances. The 'wing' can, for example, be removed from the base plate with a simple twisting motion before cleaning. The protective door stop also serves as a storage location for the removed doorstop.
Making of
When people see our doorstop for the first time, we often hear the phrase 'why didn't anyone think of this before?' – yet the seemingly simple functionality was not at all simple to implement in practice. Three years passed from the first idea to a perfectly functioning series-production product, during which countless prototypes and pre-series models were created. The final product is perfectly optimized in terms of form and material and works consistently and reliably every time it is used.
