Contact lens case
Medical Technology is one of two innovative product solutions for storing contact lenses and contact-lens solution.
Handling errors in contact-lens care repeatedly lead to eye conditions worldwide. One of the most common problems is using contact-lens cases for too long, which promotes bacterial growth on the lenses. The goal of this internal project was to develop an all-in-one contact-lens case with an integrated, limited quantity of contact-lens solution. Once the solution has been used up, the entire product is replaced. The concepts are also ideal for keeping everything needed for contact lenses compact and secure when traveling, exercising or on day trips.
The product development focused on mobility, the lowest possible manufacturing costs and an innovative usage concept.

Development
The Duoo is particularly impressive due to its simple yet innovative functionality. Here too, mobility is the main focus: its compact dimensions were designed to allow Duoo to be carried in a trouser pocket or taken on an airplane.
To clean and rinse the lens, Duoo simply needs to be squeezed. This fills its reservoir with AiO-KLF through the riser tube. The liquid can then be poured out to clean and rinse the lens. Even with only a small amount of force, the resulting pressure in the reservoir fills the riser tube and causes the liquid to exit through the opening in the KLB. The selected length of the riser tube also allows Duoo to be emptied almost completely before it needs to be disposed of.
As part of the project, ID DESIGN was responsible not only for conceptual development, but also for mechanical engineering and optimization for series production. In addition, ID DESIGN created content such as packaging design and instructions for use.
